3 New York men arrested for supporting ISIS and planning terror attack

Three men were arrested on Wednesday in Brooklyn, New York on charges of attempting to provide material support to Islamic State (ISIS) militants.

At least one of the men was planning to carry out a domestic terror attack that included targeting President Obama or planting a bomb on Coney Island, according to the FBI.

Abdurasal Hasanovich Juraviev, 24, a citizen of Uzbekistan; Akhror Saidakhmentov, 19, a citizen of Kazakhstan; and Abror Habibov, 30, a citizen of Uzbekistan will all appear in court later today.

Sairdkhametov was arrested at John F. Kennedy international airport Wednesday while attempting to get on a flight bound for Istanbul.

According to an FBI statement, Juraboev and Sairdkhametov first came to the attention of authorities in the summer of 2014 for making statement of support of ISIS online. The two allegedly made plans to travel to Turkey and onwards to Syria to join ISIS militants there.
