Drake surprised the world this past Thursday when he dropped his surprise mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, and the marketing strategy has paid off handsomely.
Not only is the rapper on a smooth path to possibly hit Gold in the first week sales, as the tape was being sold as an album on iTunes, but it’s going to debut at number one on the Billboard album charts tomorrow.
According to Hits Daily Double, the project sold an estimated 497,602 in the first week, which doesn’t include the total streams from the past week, and will be his 4th consecutive number one album.
He also broke the record on Spotify, with fans streaming the tape on the music app a total of 17.3 million times over the course of three days.
Congrats on the huge success once again, Drizzy!
