We’ve been checking out your Pinterest page, and it’s seriously lacking some tunes.
But don’t worry — you can easily add audio from a variety of sites to give your boards some musical pizzazz.
Below, we walk you through a few creative ways to make the most of music on Pinterest. Turn it up to 11 and read on.
Sharing music videos
When you’ve found a video you want to pin, just click the “ShareThis” icon on each respective site, click on the Pinterest icon or option, choose a board, edit the description and pin it.
Sharing SoundCloud and Spotify tracks
SoundCloud also offers built-in sharing for Pinterest. Again, simply click the “Share” option to pin a track to a board.
Spotify doesn’t offer native sharing to Pinterest, so you’ll need to use a workaround. Pinterest toolbox Pinstamatic lets you create a pin of song and its album artwork. Just head to Pinstamatic, click on the Spotify tab, search for a song and follow the prompts to pin it.
How music looks on Pinterest
Follow Amy-Mae’s board Music for Mashable on Pinterest.
In the above board we’ve pinned each type of content we’ve covered here — a YouTube video, Vimeo video, VEVO video, and a song from both SoundCloud and Spotify. You can see how the pins look and play from each of the services.

Be a fanboy / fangirl
You can create a Pinterest shrine to your favorite group or artist. Add music videos, songs, merchandise you like, fan art, even fashion accessories relevant to your music crush.
Add an extra element to browsing
If you’ve created a board you’d like others to browse, you could add a soundtrack to give the browsing experience an extra dimension. Pin music you like to play while cooking to recipe boards, set the scene of an interior design board with music that relates to a given design or add a catwalk-inspired track to fashion boards.
You could enhance a travel-related board with music relevant to the destinations you’ve pinned, or create your ultimate road trip playlist for armchair exploring.
Vintage boards and era exploration
Set the scene on your vintage-themed boards with music from that era. Alternatively, have fun with decade-themed boards, mixing music, videos, style, design, fashion and more from a particular era.
If you’ve created a board to plan for an event, you could add music you’re thinking of playing, or retrospectively did play, at the occasion.
Create a group board, add some of your Pinterest buddies and collaborate on a playlist. It could have a theme, or just focus on songs you want to share with each other.
