LONDON — Cereal restaurants are old news and cat cafes are over – it’s all about owls among the city’s tweet-twooerati nowadays.

Next month sees a new pop-up opening in a secret location in Soho, central London, that will combine cocktails and owls – as you do – over the course of a week.

Entry is through a random ballot and over 25,000 people have already signed up.

Annie The Owl is a collaboration between start-up app company Locappy and Gloucestershire’s Barn Owl Centre and will be open for quality owl time from March 19 – 25 every evening from 8.30pm to 2am.

Tickets for the owl bar are £20 and include entry for one, two cocktails and “two hours of this unique owl indulgence”. All profits will go to the sanctuary for further conservation efforts.

Several beautiful birds have been confirmed for the event, including Darwin, who can rotate his head 270 degrees and eats up to 1,000 mice per year, Winston, the wise one apparently, and Hootie, whose identity is being kept secret for some reason.

Meet the owls.

They’ll all be accompanied by trained falconers.

“I’m half Japanese and have visited an owl café in Tokyo and really enjoyed it,” event brainchild Seb told the Londonist. “I thought that it would be really cool to bring one to London.”
