Reality TV star Ahmad Givens aka ‘Real’ of ‘I Love New York’ fame passed away today after a two year fight with stage 4 colon cancer.
You might remember Real and his fellow “stallionaire” brother Kamal aka ‘Chance’ for their infamous stint on Vh1’s ‘I Love New York. The two brothers were so funny, that they gained their own dating spin-off ‘Real Chance of Love.’
Unfortunately, Chance took to Instagram to regretfully announce the news that his older brother had lost his battle with cancer earlier today.
“Bye to my favorite guy in this whole world be in peace we love you forever bro I’ll see you one day soon we shall dance again in God’s kingdom forever and ever bro words can’t describe my pain world pray for me.”
Since the onset of his diagnosis, The 33 year old entertainer remained extremely positive through the duration of his illness, often keeping fans and followers posted of his progress. Just three months ago, the husband and father of one son ‘Mahdi,’ took to Instagram to update fans that things were looking up in the health department!
What’s up everybody? I just left the doctors, I did a brain MRI today, saw my doctors, they said everything looks good! No new tumors in the brain, no swelling [laughs] I feel greeeatttttt! I just want to thank you guys for all the love, the support, the comments that you guys leave and the prayers. I read them [all]!
He also thanked his wife of 5 years, Racquel, for helping to nurse him back to good health while holding down their household during his most vulnerable times.
Unfortunately, a month later, Real gave another update to fans that his tumors had a rare mutation and as a result, he’d been taken off of chemotherapy. His post thereafter was a photo of himself in bed with his mother and grandmother, with his final photo being that of him and bro Chance giving dap with the words:
“Love you to @stallionaireschance bro 4 Eva!”
Our prayers are with the Givens family during this time!
