There’s Nothing ‘Sweet’ About Tyga Declaring His……. for a 17-Year-Old…. Twitter Goes HAM

Over the weekend, rapper Tyga, 25, declared his love for a 17-year-old on Instagram. Granted, the girl in question is part of the Kardashian clan and comes from a long line of sisters who dated grown men while still in their teens. But that doesn’t mean it’s something to celebrate, as People magazine managed to do.

Tyga and Kylie Jenner, who recently turned 17, have been sneaking around since he dumped his fiancee and former friend of the Kardashians, Blac Chyna. Although Tyga tried his best to deny their relationship in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, an Instagram post this weekend pretty much confirms it.

“Certain things capture your eye, but only few capture the heart,” Tyga captioned his photo of Kylie, who is Bruce Jenner’s daughter and a maternal half-sister of the older Kardashian daughters.

While many people on the Internet side-eyed Tyga’s Instagram post and referred to the relationship as statutory rape, People magazine thought it was “sweet.” The magazine titled its article, “Tyga Confirms Relationship With Kylie Jenner in Sweet Instagram Post,” and of course, the Internet fired back with the hashtag #PeopleMagazineHeadlines to point out the absurdity of referring to an illegal relationship as sweet.

You have to wonder how Tyga would feel if the shoe were on the other foot and he had a 17-year-old daughter dating a 25-year-old man. If anyone in his family (I give up on that other family) had any common sense, you’d think they would advise him against the relationship and stress the fact that he is breaking the law, because the age of consent in California is 18. Kylie doesn’t turn 18 until August. Clearly, there’s something wrong with a grown man who likes to date teenagers, and with families that approve of it.
